Learn to Coach
North Vancouver is home to hundreds of sport groups, and all of them rely on dedicated coaches to help develop their athletes and teams. The Recreation Commission offers courses that will help you learn the practical skills and important tools necessary to become an effective coach.
Coaching Fundamental Movement Skills
The goal of the NCCP Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS) workshop is to expose participants to a process that will teach and improve fundamental movement skills in children. The Workshop consists of 12 units, each focusing on a specific aspect of teaching movement skills or on a specific movement skill. The units give participants opportunities to assess and improve their teaching of fundamental movement skills as well as leadership skills such as activity delivery and effective communication. Fundamental Movement Skills are integral in child development as they are the basis of movements across a full range of sports and leisure activities they will be involved with in their lifetime.
The next course begins January 8th, 2012. Register online or call us at 604-987-Play (7529)
