National Lifeguard Service (NLS)
North Vancouver Recreation Commission has everything you need to qualify to become a lifeguard. Find out what National Lifeguard Service (NLS) certifications you need to by checking the chart below. You can search for the next available course in eReg (these courses are listed under Aquatics-Specialty), then register online or in person at your local pool.
Please note that NLS certifications do not qualify you to teach—only to work as a lifeguard. Learn more about lifeguarding programs by visiting the Lifeguarding Society's website*.
