With over 150 fitness classes every week, the North Vancouver Recreation Commission can help you get fit fast. Whether you're just starting out, returning to exercise after a break, or looking for a challenge, our instructors will motivate and inspire you to keep coming back. Choose from our wide variety of classes - including everything from Pilates* and yoga* to indoor cycle and stability ball classes. Then select your pace: easy and low-impact (Level 1), moderately intense and complex (Level 2), or challenging (Level 3). We've got such a wide variety of classes that you can indulge yourself.

To get into a class, just purchase a fitness membership*, register for your favourite class, or pay our daily drop-in fee and get started now! Please purchase drop-in tickets at any Community Recreation Centre front office before going to fitness classes at the following facilities:

  • Harry Jerome Pool and Cycle Studio
  • Lynn Valley Community Recreation Centre
  • Mickey McDougall Gym and Activity Room.

When you're reading our schedules, refer to our class descriptions to find out about the type of class. Please note that class times and dates are subject to change.

Special Notes

  • Pass checks are performed frequently in fitness and weight room classes. To avoid any inconvenience or disruption to your workout, please have your membership pass or wristband visible at all times.
  • Please bring your own mat for any classes involving floor work.
  • Children aged 12 to 14 may attend a fitness class if they are accompanied by an adult.
  • Infants, toddlers and children are not permitted in fitness classes. At several of our facilities, childminding staff can care for your children while you exercise. The North Vancouver Recreation Commission values the safety of families and children in our facilities. It is for this reason that children are not to be brought into exercise / activity areas during adult group fitness classes. Allowing children to play in an area where a fitness class is taking place exposes children to potential hazards. Thank you for your cooperation in helping to keep the Recreation Commission a safe place for all users.

* Pilates and yoga classes are not included in the Fitness Membership.
