Grant Connell Tennis Centre has produced top national and international tennis players and is a national leader in the development of Junior talent. All of our coaches have Tennis Canada certifications and follow coaching methodologies endorsed by that organization.

 

 

 

Coaches Skills & Qualifications
Wayne Elderton (TENNIS DIRECTOR)

As Head Course Facilitator for Tennis Canada Coaching Certification in BC, Wayne has trained over 1000 coaches to teach tennis. He has written coaching materials for Tennis Canada, Tennis Australia, The PTR, and The International Tennis Federation. His students have captured over 20 National titles (Junior & wheelchair).

  • Tennis BC - High Performance Coach of the Year ('02, '04)

Klaus Schlotz (SENIOR TENNIS PROFESSIONAL)

Klaus has a wealth of experience as a tennis coach and played league tennis in Germany. He has a rich and diversified background as an athlete and coach in multiple sports. A certified BCRPA Fitness leader, Klaus is our resident expert on fitness, exercise and injury prevention & rehabilitation.

  • Masters in Physical Education from Johannes Gutenberg University in Germany
  • Advanced training in injury prevention/rehabilitation, weight training and personal training

Tracy Bennet (TENNIS PROFESSIONAL)

Tracy comes to us from Toronto where she was Director of Junior Development at Mayfair West Racquet & Fitness Club since 1995. There, she worked with some of Canada's top junior players. She is also an accomplished player having achieved a top 10 world ranking in ITF Women's over 35's and #3 in Ontario.

  • Tennis BC U12 Provincial Coach
  • Tennis Canada Coaching Certification Course Facilitator
  • 2005 Ranked #9 ITF World ranking in Women's over 35's
Jesse Evans (TENNIS PROFESSIONAL)

In his Junior career, Jesse was ranked #1 in U18 provincially and represented BC at the National Championships. In adult provincial open play, he has been ranked in the top 5.

Mark Renneson (TENNIS PROFESSIONAL)

Mark was a national level player as a junior. He has over ten years experience as a Tennis Professional in Ontario.

  • Captain of the University of Toronto Men's Team
  • Masters Degree Candidate (Philosophy of Education)

Goran Zovko (TENNIS PROFESSIONAL)

In his Junior career, Goran was ranked in the top 5 of BC U18 Provincial Play. He has experience playing in Men's Satellite events in Australia and has coached in Europe.
