Interested in meeting people, learning new skills and having fun?
NVRC provides many interesting and varied volunteer opportunities for people of all ages. Get involved in your community by volunteering in our programs, and special events. Volunteering with the North Vancouver Recreation Commission will give you an opportunities to meet a diverse range of people, learn or develop new skills, acquire new interests and hobbies, be an active member of your community and to make a difference! We will provide you with orientation, training, and ongoing support.
To qualify as a Recreation Commission volunteer, you must:
- Be at least 14 years of age
- Be prepared to commit a minimum of 40 hours annually to maintain your status as a Recreation Commission volunteer
- Be able to provide at least three references from people who have known you for at least one year - other than family members and friends (for example, teachers, coaches, supervisors, etc.).
We offer volunteer opportunities at Delbrook, Harry Jerome, Karen Magnussen, Lynn Valley, Ron Andrews and William Griffin Centres in the following areas:
- Supporting an individual to participate in Recreation Commission programs
- Aquatics
- General Recreation Activities
- Special Events
- Summer Daycamps
North Vancouver residents can also volunteer with the Recreation Commission by participating in one of our Advisory Committees or by becoming a 'citizen appointee' Recreation Commissioner.
